Interview. Here are the top ten things Cratchit thinks you want to know about
me. Cratchit: What is your favorite color?
Carmen: Hint! Check out the skies and ocean on my website. Yes, it’s
the color blue. Cratchit: What is your favorite food?
Carmen: Arriba! Arriba! Salsa and chips. Cratchit: What is your favorite thing to do?
Carmen: Spending a day at the beach with my family, frolicking in the surf
and letting the wet sand ooze through my toes. Cratchit: What is your favorite book?
Carmen: No fair! You know I love all books. I grew up devouring “Charlotte’s
Web” by E.B. White and all of Dr. Seus’s books. My grandmother
used to read to me about an adorable mouse character named “Twinkle Toes,” I
wish I could remember the name of that book. I’m a book junkie, and I’m
always buying new books for my children. Some of my latest favorites are: “I
Love you the Purplest” by Barbara Joosse,“Olivia” by Ian
Falconer, “Kitten’s First Moon” and “Owen” by
Kevin Henkes, and a sentimental remake of my absolute favorite story is the
picture book “I Knew You Could” by Craig Dorfman. (Hint: I think
I can, I think I can. Yep, it’s about a little train engine.) Cratchit: What is your most embarrassing moment?
Carmen: Ah, come on, Crab. Don’t make me answer this one. If you must
know, let’s just say that when I was in 7th grade, I released an odor
in the classroom that left a few fallen comrades. Cratchit: What is your favorite car?
Carmen: My favorite car will always be my first car; a red 2 door Chevrolet
Sprint. It was peppy and had a stick shift. HooHaw! Cratchit: Who is your favorite mentor?
Carmen: My Grandma. I called her “Gram.” She always made me feel
like I was number one in her life. She was kind-hearted, loving, and she inspired
me to be a better person. She died when I was seventeen, and I still miss her
to this day.
Cratchit: What is your favorite game?
Carmen: Growing up, my favorite board game was Monopoly.
Sometimes, my cousins and I played late into the early morning light
- way past our bedtime! But,
my favorite outdoor game was a scavenger hunt. Now, I love playing dominoes
and my kids and I play hide-n-seek all the time. Cratchit: Who is your favorite sports team?
Carmen: The football team the Green Bay Packers. I saw them play live on the
frozen tundra of Lambeau Field in December, 2006 with my husband. Brrrrrr! Cratchit: What is your favorite animal?
Carmen: A dog. Here’s a picture of my dog, Fresno. Isn’t she a
cutie? |
